Research Team

The research team of CO has an extensive experience in the frame of the project topic. The components of the CO team are the following: 2 senior researcher, 4 postdoctoral researcher and 2 doctoral students.

  • PhD. Valentin Ion (www.brainmap.ro/ion-valentin) - project leader has expertise in the field of laser ablation and evaporation (PLD and MAPLE), spectroscopic ellipsometry and dielectric spectroscopy; Involved as project leader of a Star-Rosa national project no 168/2017 (title: Multilayer coatings for low PIM space antenna). And PED Project PN-III-P2-2.1-PED-2019-4734 and PCE project PN-III-P4-ID-PCE-2020-2921 with and as participant in national projects, in 3 international projects and 3 international stages; he has more than 70 papers in ISI journals and more than 100 papers and presentations at National and International Conferences and 12 National patent request. In present he is acting Head of Laboratory 2 from Fotoplasmat centre.
  • PhD. Nicu Doinel Scarisoreanu (www.brainmap.ro/scarisoreanu-nicu-doinel) – Key Person, Senior Scientist - experience in the field of photonic processing of complex stoichiometry materials and engineering the growth of thin films using various techniques (PLD, MAPLE, LIFT, RF sputtering for enhancing the intrinsic functional properties of complex materials. The innovative contribution in this research field is reflected through more than 72 peer-reviewed scientific publications, published in reputed journals (ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Scientific Reports, Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics, etc), book chapters (Springer Internationals, Elsevier, Intech), and awarded patents in the field of photonic processing of materials.
  • PhD. Mihai Zamfir (www.brainmap.ro/mihai-robert-zamfir) has expertise in the field of nanomaterials processing (CVD, PeCVD, HF-CVD, E-beam and Thermal Evaporation, MBE, sputtering) and characterization using various techniques (SEM, XRD, electrochemical and photoelectrochemical analysis, and others) and integration in devices (photolitography and electron beam lithography) for applications in energy storage/production and electronics and optoelectronics. Also he has and extensive experience in the energy science field particularly in the energy storage. Hirsch index = 6, citations more than 650 (without self-citations), papers 10.
  • PhD. Mihai Sopronyi Thin film fabrication through Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) as well as fabrication of mesoporous carbon (simple and embedded with Co nanoparticles) through Light-assisted evaporation induced selfassembly (LA-EISA). Known characterization methods: UV-VIS analysis, FTIR, Raman Nitrogen adsorption/desorption. Computer Assisted Design (CAD) of reaction chambers and setups in Solidworks
  • PhD. Anca Florina Bonciu (https://www.brainmap.ro/anca-florina-bonciu) She gained experience in processing various materials by laser methods (Matrix assisted Pulsed Laser Evaporation-MAPLE, Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD)) and their characterization by Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and contact angle/surface free energy measurements.
  • PhD Irina Carceanu (https://www.brainmap.ro/irina-carceanu) Partener coordinator. She experience in New materials for solar and thermal systems; -Superalloys created by the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis; Metal/ceramic nanocomposites: Nanocomposites by mechanical alloying; Metal Matrix Composites; -Self propagating high temperature synthesis; Bioactive multifunctional materials; biomaterials for medical applications; Ecoceramics materials; Multifunctional materials with controlled characteristics; Contribution in this project: Management of project in collaboration with CO responsible person.
  • Eng Constantin Pintilie (https://www.brainmap.ro/constantin-pintilie) Has extensive experience in developing and presenting testing and evaluation reports, highlighting the ability to analyze and synthesize the results obtained. Has acquired technical competencies in managing and coordinating the team, including monitoring the implementation of technology and ensuring compliance with project objectives. Experience in collaborating with industry partners and research institutions to achieve the common goals of previous projects.
